Building Performance Standards Evolution & Updates
Building Performance Standards (BPS) that require buildings to meet a specific energy carbon threshold continue to play a critical role in the decarbonization of commercial real estate. BPS legislation continues to expand, now covering 9 cities and 4 states, with over 40 more jurisdictions committed to passing policies through the National BPS Coalition. This session will review the basis of BPS and its potential impact, followed by an overview of the latest updates of this evolving landscape to help attendees understand where we are to date and what is potentially coming down the funnel. You will also learn about some helpful tools and resources, including ways to track BPS policies and how high-performance building hubs can benefit energy managers looking for compliance assistance and/or business exposure.
